Our Story

Welcome to Annie’s Place Ceramic Cafe, we are a pottery painting tearoom in the Charente region of France. Based in a small rural village of Oradour-Fanais, we are surrounded by nature and tranquility waiting for you to come and unleash your creativity in a peaceful setting.

We have over 200 items of ceramic bisque, and 50 plus different colours, you can check the bisque items on our shop page to see what is in stock, we have also recently started a Pinterest page with designs from our latest customers to help you with some real life inspiration!

Our afternoon teas and cakes are well known in the area and we stock a fabulous range of loose leaf teas and freshly ground coffee.

If painting is not for you , but you want a gift , we do offer gift vouchers for your loved ones to paint inshore, and we also paint custom gifts.

1. CHOOSE an item to paint from our range of over 200 styles of bisque pottery. From everyday use items, like plates, butter dishes and vases to figurines, jewellery, house signs and many more. Choose your refreshments, these are all priced individually and there is a sample menu here if you wish to take a look.

2. CREATE your unique and personal design, after we explain how things work using our huge range of special ceramic paint colours, tools. We are on hand the full time to help with any techniques if required.

3. COLLECT your item after we have glazed and fired it, which can be anywhere up to 2 weeks wait during very busy periods.

Throughout the year our ranges change and we bring in seasonal items to the studio, if you want you can take a look on the pottery page and you will be able to pre-select any items for your visit that we have in stock which also shows all the prices.

Pottery Painting

Monday to Friday we have bookable slots twice a day to paint ceramics, you can book alone or in a group, take a look at our calendar here for availability and to book your seat.

For those of you new to pottery painting this is how it works…

There is always a nice selection of cakes, tea and coffee in the cake fridge if you just want a slice of cake and drink, you can buy on the day. However, if pre-booked, we offer afternoon tea with a wonderful range of home made cakes and sandwiches all served with your choice of tea and coffee on arrival before you paint.

This service must be rebooked a minimum of four days in advance and is for a minimum of 4 people.

We also have ad hoc sessions for group pottery painting events , hand building with clay, and wheel throwing, which is coming soon! Take a look here for the dates and to book your seat.
